Cam Reddish is proving that basketball careers don’t end when the NBA chapter closes — sometimes, they simply relocate.
After two uneven seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers and a winding NBA journey through Atlanta, New York, and Portland, Reddish has found new life in Lithuania, where he’s showcasing the scoring talent that once made him one of the most hyped prospects of his generation.
🌍 A New Start in Lithuania
Following years of trying to hold onto an NBA roster spot, Reddish pivoted this summer and signed with Šiauliai in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). It might have seemed like a step down — but so far, it looks like a step forward.
Through his first nine games, Reddish has been a featured weapon, starting eight contests and playing 26.4 minutes per night, the fifth-largest workload on the team.
And his production? Eye-opening.
📈 Reddish’s LKL Numbers So Far
In nine appearances, he’s averaging:
- 14.7 points
- 3.8 rebounds
- 1.4 assists
- 2.0 steals
- 40.0% from the field
- 27.1% from three (on 5.3 attempts per game)
Those numbers make him the 9th-leading scorer in the entire LKL, a strong indication that Reddish is rediscovering his rhythm and confidence as a go-to perimeter option.
🟣 What Went Wrong in LA?
Cam Reddish’s time with the Lakers flashed moments of promise — especially during his first season, when he carved out a rotation role and delivered impactful defensive minutes.
But year two never found traction. Under JJ Redick, Reddish struggled to secure consistent opportunities, and his offensive inconsistency ultimately pushed him out of the rotation entirely.
His NBA journey also included stops with:
- Atlanta Hawks (No. 10 pick in the 2019 Draft)
- New York Knicks
- Portland Trail Blazers
…before signing with the Lakers in the 2023 offseason.
🔄 Could an NBA Return Still Happen?
Reddish’s NBA future appeared closed when he left for Europe — but overseas success has reopened the conversation. With his scoring punch emerging and his defensive tools still intact, it’s not unrealistic to imagine an NBA team giving him another look if he maintains this trajectory.
For now, though, Reddish is doing exactly what he needs to do: producing, leading, and rebuilding his value in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.
His NBA chapter may be paused… but it may not be finished.
