LeBron Playfully Says Bronny Doesn’t Talk to Him as Much After Moving Out

Following his return from injury, LeBron James praised Bronny’s performance in the Lakers’ win over Utah and jokingly said the two don’t talk as often now that Bronny has moved into his own home.

In his first game back from injury, LeBron James not only made headlines on the court but also off of it, showing a humorous and sentimental side when discussing his son Bronny James after the Los Angeles Lakers’ 140–126 victory over the Utah Jazz.

James, who debuted in his 23rd NBA season, celebrated both the win and his son’s late-game basket, but couldn’t resist poking fun at Bronny’s recent move into his own house.

“He doesn’t live with me anymore”

Speaking to reporters postgame, LeBron opened with praise, saying Bronny looked confident and comfortable in the rotation — but then shifted into a playful jab.

“It was great watching him. I think he’s enjoying the process. But you should probably ask him, not me — he doesn’t live with me anymore, so we don’t talk as much,” LeBron joked, pretending to speak directly to his son in the locker room. “You good, Bronny?”

The moment brought laughter from the media as LeBron mixed pride and fatherly emotion on a milestone night.

A historic return

LeBron’s return marked a new milestone, as he officially became the player with the most seasons played in NBA history, surpassing the 40-year-old mark while still performing at an elite level.

Bronny added to the family storyline by knocking down a smooth bucket to help seal the win in the fourth quarter, a moment that brought the crowd — and his father — to their feet.

A new chapter for the James family

Bronny moving out represents a new phase for both players:

  • LeBron continues pushing age barriers and rewriting NBA history.
  • Bronny begins carving his own identity at the professional level, now living independently and contributing meaningful minutes.

Even in the middle of a competitive season, the moment served as a reminder that basketball is also a family journey — and for the Lakers, that storyline continues to unfold on and off the floor.
